This was our best family vacation and a phenomenal experience. I feel extremely fortunate that I was able to do this with my children. My children realized that although the people in the community we visited didn't have a lot of material possessions, they had some things we didn't. Educator's Initiative Award

The Educator's Initiative Award was designed to give educators the opportunity to travel at a specialized price on GCN programs and share their international experiences with their students. Are you an educator that would like to have an immersion experience with GCN in the summer and share your experience with your students the following fall? Deadline: April 1st, winners are usually notified by April 10. Check out our submission requirements for more information! 

To apply for the Educator's Initiative Award, please print to fill out this application and submit it by email to (info@globalcitizens.org) or mail it to GCN's office. The application must be fully completed in order to be considered by the Selection Committee. If you would like flyers for your school, please email us and we'll be happy to send you copies for all the teachers in your school. 

 

Get Continuing Education Credits With GCN

For all GCN trips, classes, and trainings educators may apply for Continuing Education Credits. Ten continuing education unit hours per week can be earned by participating on a GCN trip. It will be necessary, however, for you to seek pre-approval by your local continuing education committee. CEU Certificates of Participation will be awarded if requested. Participants will earn their CEUs by developing skills in the following areas: Trip Preparation (accomplished through readings and orientation), Developing Cultural Competencies (accomplished through community interaction and project participation) and Self-Development (accomplished through journals, group meetings and discussions, reflections).
